PlusOne, presented by the Wooden Walls Public Art Project, will feature programming that includes large-scale murals, immersive and site-specific installations, exhibitions, artist talks, tours and hands-on experiences – effectively turning Asbury Park into an open-air gallery and creative playground. Artist Mike Shine and photographer Danny Clinch come together for a special celebration of David Bowie through art, photography and music.
Mike Shine has transformed 16 buoys into 16 different sides of Bowie, each one capturing a different persona, era and energy of the legendary artist. Danny Clinch dug deep into his archives to uncover a collection of David Bowie concert photographs, including images from the Glass Spider Tour, Carnegie Hall and more – with never-before-seen photographs pulled from decades of documenting music history.
Together, the works offer two very different views of Bowie: reimagined through Shine’s wonderfully strange world and captured through Clinch’s lens.

Color & Light Festival founders bringing together artists, producers, curators, and creative technologists, for a one-hour conversation exploring the craft and collaboration behind projection mapping. Presented live at The Showroom in Asbury Park, the program will connect a live audience with many of the featured guests participating online. Together, seven practitioners will share perspectives on creating immersive art at urban scale.

St. John’s Island located in Sunset Lake Park (Grand Ave between 5th & Sunset) will feature an immersive art installation, “Dr. Flotsam’s Carny Island,” by contemporary multidisciplinary artist Mike Shine, whose work is inspired by the visual culture of early 20th-century traveling carnivals, sideshows, and Americana. Shine’s collaborators on this project include Porkchop, Kris Moran, Beau Stanton, Jason Stumpf, Lecy Goranson and more.
Sunset Lake Park (Grand Ave between 5th & Sunset) will feature the new installation, “Made in the Shade” by Kris Moran and Martin Duffy. Also featured, will be a new installation by Hyland Mather.

It will also be the opening night reception at Parlor Gallery for Shepard Fairey’s “Raw Power”, presented by Jonathan LeVine Projects, Parlor Gallery and Wooden Walls Project. “The Collaborators” exhibit will also be featured at Parlor Gallery, with selected works by Add Fuel, Swoon, Adam Wallacavage, Jodi Rice, Buff Monster, Wolfbat + Steve Olson.
September 20 | March of Medusa | 12pm
+ PlusOne will present the 4th Annual “March of Medusa” procession created by multidisciplinary artist Dennis McNett, aka Wolfbat, together with a host of collaborators including Swoon, Steve Olson, Adam Wallacavage, Jude Harzer, Jodi Rice, Kathy Kelly, Lecy Goranson, and the Ocean Avenue Stompers with special guests.
*Procession route is along the Boardwalk from the Carousel Houseto 4th Avenue Pavilion. All are welcome to join the procession or watch along the route.
WEEKEND THREE | OCTOBER 2-4
The boardwalk’s iconic Carousel House will take center stage for the culminating weekend of PlusOne. The space will be transformed into a reimagined “Carousel Fun House: Medusa’s Midway” where artists will bring custom games, unexpected prizes, and site-specific installations to life throughout the space.
Featured artists will include Amberella, Dylon Egon, Bradley Hoffer, Scooter LaForge, Porkchop, Kris Moran and Andy Li.
